Payroll Officer - Part Time
Location: Blackpool
Salary: Β£30,000 pro rata, depending on experience
Hours: Part time, with flexibility on working hours
An established and growing manufacturing business in Blackpool is looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join its supportive HR team.
This opportunity would suit a payroll professional who enjoys taking ownership of weekly payroll and is looking for flexible part-time hours.
The Role
You'll take responsibility for the end-to-end weekly payroll for approximately 100 workers, ensuring accurate processing, timely payments and confidential record keeping.
Key Responsibilities

Check timesheets and process hours, overtime and absences.

Work with managers to confirm information and resolve payroll discrepancies.

Calculate wages, deductions and pay adjustments.

Process new starters, leavers and employee record changes.

Administer statutory sick pay and parental pay.

Prepare and submit RTI returns.

Administer pension contributions and automatic enrolment.

Respond to employee payroll queries.

Carry out payroll checks and prepare reports.

Support year-end processes, including P60s and P11Ds where applicable.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant payroll legislation.
About You

Previous payroll experience, with the confidence to manage weekly payroll independently.

Good working knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments and pensions.

Strong Excel and payroll software skills.

Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.

The ability to organise your workload and meet weekly deadlines.

A professional, approachable manner and clear communication skills.

Discretion when handling confidential employee information.
