An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a well-established organisation based in Birchwood, Warrington. This role is ideal for someone confident preparing accounts up to trial balance and supporting the full month-end process. You will be involved in producing management accounts, leading on reconciliations, and handling a broad range of duties including VAT returns, payroll, and WIP reviews.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing monthly management accounts
- Posting journals including accruals, prepayments, and corrections
- Completing control account, bank, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparing and processing weekly and monthly payroll, including HMRC submissions
- Supporting year-end statutory accounts
- Liaising with external auditors
- Preparing and submitting monthly VAT returns
- Overseeing transactional finance processes
- Completing WIP reviews and reconciliations
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting with accurate financial data
- Providing insights and analysis to support operational and commercial decision-making
Key Skills:
- AAT qualified, part-qualified CIMA/ACCA, or qualified by experience
- Strong understanding of transactional accounting and month-end processes
- Confident working to trial balance and preparing management accounts
- Proficient in Excel, including lookups and pivot tables
- Analytical, detail-focused, and highly organised
- Proactive and comfortable working independently within a busy finance function
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders
