Job Title: Management Accountant Location: Stretford, Manchester Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum + benefits (inc. study support) Hours: 37 hours per week Contract: Permanent, Full-time, fully office based
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a growing and complex organisation with a multi-entity structure. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this role will support the preparation of consolidated management accounts, financial analysis, and reporting across the group.
This is a broad, hands-on role offering excellent exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to add real value through insight, analysis, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements
- Variance analysis with clear, insightful commentary on performance
- Support with board and senior management reporting
- Development of financial models to support strategic decision-making
- End-to-end payroll responsibilities
- Support annual budget setting and periodic re-forecasting
- Monitor actual performance against budget
- Partner with departmental heads to support cost control and financial decision-making
- Profitability and cost analysis to identify efficiencies and savings opportunities
- Support finance process automation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with the review and enhancement of internal controls and procedures
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end close, including accruals, prepayments, bank, intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Statutory filings with Companies House
- Monthly Payroll – submission of HMRC and pension-related filings
About You:
- Studying towards a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent
- Proven experience within a management accounting role
- Experience within professional services, technology, property sector would be advantageous
- Strong Excel skills and confidence using financial systems
- Experience or exposure to Payroll functions would be advantageous
- Analytical, detail-focused, and comfortable working to deadlines
- Confident communicator able to engage non-finance stakeholders
- Proactive, inquisitive, and keen to improve processes
- Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
