An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a well-established organisation based in Birchwood, Warrington. This role is ideal for someone confident preparing accounts up to trial balance and supporting the full month-end process. You will be involved in producing management accounts, leading on reconciliations, and handling a broad range of duties including VAT returns, payroll, and WIP reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts
  • Posting journals including accruals, prepayments, and corrections
  • Completing control account, bank, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparing and processing weekly and monthly payroll, including HMRC submissions
  • Supporting year-end statutory accounts
  • Liaising with external auditors
  • Preparing and submitting monthly VAT returns
  • Overseeing transactional finance processes
  • Completing WIP reviews and reconciliations
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting with accurate financial data
  • Providing insights and analysis to support operational and commercial decision-making

Key Skills:

  • AAT qualified, part-qualified CIMA/ACCA, or qualified by experience
  • Strong understanding of transactional accounting and month-end processes
  • Confident working to trial balance and preparing management accounts
  • Proficient in Excel, including lookups and pivot tables
  • Analytical, detail-focused, and highly organised
  • Proactive and comfortable working independently within a busy finance function
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders
