Adele Carr Recruitment is supporting a high-growth business based in Liverpool who are seeking an ambitious, ACA-qualified accountant from a Big 4 / Top 10 practice, to join the finance team as part of a structured succession plan towards Financial Controller. This role is designed for a technically strong, practice-trained, ICAEW accountant, who is ready to move into industry, while continuing to develop commercially and strategically as the business scales.
You will join at a pivotal stage of growth, gaining exposure well beyond a traditional "first time mover" role, working closely with the senior finance leadership team to help shape the finance function for the next phase of the company's journey. As part of the succession plan, the role will evolve working towards the full responsibility for the finance function including leadership, systems and controls and strategic input. Initially hands-on and technically focused, the role will broaden over time as the business grows and responsibilities expand.
- Production and review of management accounts and monthly reporting
- Budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow analysis in a growing environment
- Ownership of balance sheet integrity and financial controls
- Supporting statutory accounts, audits, and complex technical areas
- Improving financial processes, reporting frameworks, and governance
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to support commercial decision-making
The Ideal Candidate
- ICAEW qualified (ACA), trained within a Big 4 or Top 10 practice
- Strong technical foundation and audit or accounting background
- Comfortable moving from structured environments into a scaling business
