Requirements:

  • Valid and active Speech-Language Pathologist State license.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders comprehensively.
  • Diagnose the type and severity of communication issues via clinical evaluations and diagnostic tests.
  • Create personalized treatment plans aligned with each patient's specific needs and goals.
  • Deliver therapy to enhance articulation, fluency, voice, comprehension, and expression.
  • Address swallowing disorders and promote safe swallowing practices.
  • Provide guidance on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices when required.
  • Educate patients and families on strategies and exercises for improved communication and swallowing.
  • Continuously assess and document patient progress, adapting treatment plans as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with a healthcare team, including physicians, therapists, and educators, for holistic care.
  • Maintain precise and current patient records, including assessments, plans, and progress notes.
  • Assist patients in applying improved communication skills in daily life, school, or work.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in speech-language pathology through professional development activities.
