Adecco are pleased to be recruiting for a Senior Engineer - Transport Development Control to work within South Gloucestershire Council.

Location: Yate, South Gloucestershire

Contract Type: Temporary

Hourly Rate: £50.00 - £55.00 per hour / £370 - £407 per day

End Date: January 31, 2027 (with possible extension)

Working Pattern: Full Time 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Driving Required: Yes

About the Role: As a Senior Engineer, you will provide expert advice on transport matters as a key consultee in the planning process for our Local Highway Authority. Your insights will ensure that planning applications align with local and national policies, including the Core Strategy and Joint Local Transport Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Reviews: Conduct thorough reviews of transportation aspects of planning applications, ensuring compliance with policies and technical guidance.
  • Sustainable Travel Promotion: Advocate for sustainable travel infrastructure and choices in new developments.
  • Negotiation: Manage developer agreements to facilitate effective transport solutions for key district facilities.
  • Expert Presentations: Share your transportation expertise at planning committees, appeals, and public inquiries.
