We are currently recruiting on behalf of Wolverhampton City Council for an experienced Team Leader - Recruitment Administration to join their People Services team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and organised individual with previous recruitment and team leadership experience to take ownership of a busy recruitment function and support the delivery of high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and support a team of Recruitment & Retention Assistants and Support Officers
- Oversee day-to-day recruitment operations, ensuring campaigns progress efficiently
- Allocate workloads, manage priorities, and ensure key deadlines (including payroll cut-offs) are met
- Act as the escalation point for complex or sensitive recruitment queries
- Monitor recruitment campaigns, identifying delays, risks, and implementing solutions
- Produce and analyse performance reports, identifying trends and process improvements
- Ensure all pre-employment checks (DBS, right to work, etc.) are completed accurately and compliantly
- Maintain accurate and audit-able recruitment records
- Support staff development through coaching, performance management, and training
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders across People Services
Requirements:
- Previous experience in recruitment and/or HR administration is essential
- Proven experience in a team leadership or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of recruitment processes, compliance, and pre-employment checks
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to manage high workloads in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with data, reporting, and process improvement
Working Arrangements:
- Temporary contract
- Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
- Hybrid working model 3 days per week office-based within Wolverhampton
Additional Information:
- £18.85 per hour - paid weekly
