The Commercial Assistant will play a key role in supporting the commercial management of projects from pre-contract stage through to final account. The successful candidate will assist with cost control, contract administration, commercial reporting and project documentation, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and in accordance with contractual requirements. This position offers exposure to a wide variety of commercial activities and would suit an organised individual looking to develop a long-term career within a commercial or project-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend project meetings and undertake site visits where required
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of valuations and applications for payment
  • Support the administration and negotiation of final accounts
  • Assist with contract administration activities throughout the project lifecycle
  • Help maintain accurate project cost records and financial information
  • Support commercial reporting and project performance monitoring
  • Assist in identifying commercial risks and opportunities
  • Maintain project documentation and ensure records remain accurate and up to date
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure projects progress efficiently
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and consultants
  • Support the management of project budgets and cost control processes
  • Assist with procurement and subcontractor administration where required
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in line with company procedures and contractual obligations
  • Act in the best commercial interests of the business at all times

  • Experience supporting commercial, procurement, contracts or project teams would be beneficial
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications within a professional environment
