We are supporting a leading UK organisation in the search for an experienced Procurement Manager to join a large and well-established procurement function on an initial 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for proven procurement professionals who enjoy variety, autonomy and delivering value in complex business environments. Rather than supporting a single category, you'll work across a broad portfolio of direct and indirect spend areas, helping deliver critical procurement projects and commercial outcomes.

The Role

You will support a busy procurement team by leading and delivering sourcing activities across multiple business-critical projects. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can quickly understand requirements, engage stakeholders, manage procurement processes and drive commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities.
  • Developing and executing go-to-market strategies.
  • Managing tender and competitive sourcing exercises.
  • Negotiating commercial agreements and contracts.
  • Partnering with stakeholders across multiple business functions.
  • Managing several procurement projects simultaneously.
  • Supporting category strategies, risk management and value delivery initiatives.

The role will provide exposure to a range of spend areas including supply chain, construction, technology, appliances, metering, marketing and other indirect categories.

About You

We're looking for someone who can quickly integrate into a complex organisation and start delivering from day one. You will ideally have:

  • Significant procurement experience gained within complex commercial environments.
  • Strong experience across sourcing, tendering and contract negotiation.
  • A broad procurement background covering multiple categories rather than a single specialist area.
  • Experience managing direct and/or indirect spend categories.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • The ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity and manage competing priorities.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience.

Desirable

  • MCIPS qualification.
  • Experience within large matrix organisations.
  • Exposure to supply chain, engineering, construction, technology or indirect procurement categories.
