A key organisation within the UK’s critical national infrastructure sector is seeking an experienced Physical Security Advisor to support its Corporate Security function and act as the Physical Security SME for a major asset refresh programme. This role ensures the protection of people, assets and information, and requires the ability to obtain higher‑level government clearance. Some travel will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Physical Security SME for a major infrastructure security refresh programme.
  • Provide expert advice, oversight and assurance across design, implementation and operational security activities.
  • Lead decisions on physical security specifications, solutions and standards.
  • Identify risks, resolve issues and deliver proportionate, risk‑based security recommendations.
  • Ensure security requirements are embedded into designs, proposals and programme documentation.
  • Support validation and verification of security solutions against internal and regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with Corporate Security and programme stakeholders to achieve security objectives.

Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience as a Physical Security SME on major infrastructure programmes.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering physical security upgrades or asset refreshes.
  • Background working with UK Government departments and law enforcement in CT, crime prevention or extremism contexts.
  • Strong stakeholder influence and credibility at senior levels.
  • Excellent knowledge of physical, personal and personnel security principles.
  • Experience managing government‑marked information.
  • Prior CNI experience is essential.
  • Skilled in security surveys, Operational Requirements, project support and protective security frameworks.
