Location: Hancock Court, Warrington Salary: £18.40 per hour (£33,494 per annum) Contract: 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract / Secondment (with potential to extend) Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday Enhanced DBS Check to be completed prior to start About the Role We are recruiting for a Housing Manager to join a well-established Retirement Living service supporting independent residents aged 55 and over. Based at Hancock Court in Warrington, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a retirement living scheme, ensuring residents feel safe, supported and able to live independently in their own homes. This is a varied role where no two days are the same, combining housing management, resident wellbeing, property compliance and community engagement responsibilities. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and compliant environment, carrying out resident welfare checks, managing repairs and contractors, handling tenancy-related matters and helping to create a vibrant community for residents. Key Responsibilities Managing the day-to-day operation of a Retirement Living scheme Conducting resident welfare checks and supporting tenancy sustainment Ensuring all health & safety, compliance and fire safety checks are completed and recorded Raising and monitoring repairs and maintenance works Managing void properties and supporting re-letting activities Monitoring rent accounts and supporting arrears management Responding to resident concerns Building positive relationships with residents, families and external agencies Coordinating contractors and ensuring communal areas remain welcoming and well maintained Supporting resident engagement activities and helping to reduce social isolation About You We are open to candidates from housing, supported housing, tenancy management, property management, community services, customer service or other transferable backgrounds. To be successful, you will: Be confident working independently and managing your own workload Have a proactive, positive and can-do attitude Be comfortable lone working for the majority of the time Have experience dealing with customers, residents or service users Understand the importance of health & safety and compliance standards Have experience managing competing priorities and solving problems independently Be an effective communicator with strong relationship-building skills Be able to hit the ground running following an initial training and induction periodExperience within housing, retirement living, supported housing or working with older people would be advantageous but is not essential. What's on Offer? £18.40 per hour (£33,494 per annum) Monday to Friday working pattern with no weekend requirement Flexible working hours, typically around 8:30am to 4:30pm Opportunity to join a supportive and established team A well-managed scheme with a stable workload and positive resident community Potential for the contract to be extended beyond the initial six-month period Additional Information The role is primarily based at Hancock Court, Warrington. Candidates should be comfortable travelling to neighbouring schemes when required to provide buddy cover and operational support. An Enhanced DBS (Adults) check and satisfactory references will be required. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is highly desirable due to the travel requirements of the role.
