We are looking for a General Warehouse Operative to play a crucial role in the efficient functioning of a warehouse facility. This position involves various tasks related to the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring the smooth flow of operations within the warehouse. This role is based in Market Harborough and is a long term temporary to permanent role. The starting salary is £11.00- £11.44 and this will be reviewed at the 3 month time frame, hours are 8.30am until 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Inspection:
- Receive incoming shipments, checking for accuracy and completeness.
- Inspect goods for damages and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Storage and Organisation:
- Safely and efficiently store goods in designated warehouse locations.
- Maintain a well-organised and tidy warehouse space.
- Ensure proper labelling and documentation of stored items.
- Order Picking and Packing:
- Accurately pick and pack items according to customer orders or shipping requirements.
- Prepare packages for shipment, ensuring proper packaging and labelling.
- Operational Support:
- Assist in loading and unloading of trucks.
- Quality Control:
- Participate in quality control processes to ensure that products meet specified standards.
- Report any quality issues promptly.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Communication:
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Report any issues or concerns promptly.
