Van Driver – Medical Equipment Deliveries
?? Location: Beckton, East London?? Salary: £13.54 per hour?? Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
About the Role:
We're recruiting on behalf of our client – a council-owned organisation supporting residents of Newham. They're seeking a reliable, customer-focused Van Driver to deliver and install essential medical equipment in patients' homes.
This role involves more than just driving – you'll be the friendly face of the service, helping improve lives through the delivery of community medical equipment, including sensory support and specialist seating. Full training on installations will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive a 3.5-tonne van across Newham and East London
- Load and unload equipment safely
- Deliver and install medical equipment in patients' homes
- Carry out basic DIY/assembly tasks using hand/power tools
- Provide excellent customer service and support
- Assist in the warehouse when deliveries are complete
What We're Looking For:
- Enhanced DBS certificate – essential
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Minimum 2 years' commercial driving experience in the UK
- At least 5 years of checkable employment history
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Able to work both independently and within a team
- Comfortable using power tools for basic assembly
- Previous experience in a healthcare or customer-facing role is highly desirable
- Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK
