We are currently recruiting for an experienced Test Manager to join a leading organisation on an initial 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled testing professional to take ownership of testing strategy, governance and delivery across a complex IT landscape. You will be responsible for defining and implementing testing standards, managing end-to-end testing activities, and ensuring the successful delivery of both business-as-usual initiatives and major change programmes.
Whilst we are keen to speak with experienced Test Managers from a broad range of enterprise environments, candidates with experience testing Oracle E-Business Suite (Oracle EBS) applications and environments will be of particular interest.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, agree, and implement a comprehensive testing strategy and roadmap for key business systems.
- Define and maintain testing standards, procedures, frameworks, scripts, and schedules across all testing phases.
- Lead the planning, scoping, coordination, and execution of testing activities.
- Manage all testing cycles, including:
- Unit Testing
- System Testing
- Integration Testing
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Regression Testing
- Upgrade & Patch Testing
- Stress & Performance Testing
- Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
- Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- Collaborate with IT teams, suppliers, project managers, and business stakeholders to ensure testing requirements are effectively delivered.
- Monitor and report on testing progress, risks, issues, defects, and quality metrics.
- Provide expert guidance to Project Managers and programme teams on testing approaches, planning, and best practice.
- Lead, coach, and develop testing resources, ensuring sufficient capability is available to support ongoing delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing effectiveness, efficiency, and quality outcomes.
- Ensure all testing activities align with organisational goals, customer requirements, and industry best practice.
- Proven experience working as a Test Manager within a complex IT environment.
- ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level qualification, or equivalent experience.
- Degree-level qualification in IT or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, governance, and best practices.
- Demonstrable experience managing end-to-end testing activities across multiple testing phases.
- Experience engaging with and presenting to stakeholders at all levels, including Project Boards, Programme Boards, and Release Boards.
- Excellent analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience testing within Oracle E-Business Suite (Oracle EBS) environments.
- Experience supporting Oracle EBS upgrades, integrations, patches, and business-critical change programmes.
- Knowledge of Oracle Finance, Procurement, HR, Payroll, or Shared Services modules.
- ISTQB Advanced Level Certification.
- Experience working within Shared Services environments.
- Previous experience within the Public Sector or Emergency Services sector.
