Adecco - Housing are seeking a dedicated Tenancy Sustainment Officer to provide residents with holistic, high-quality support to prevent financial hardship and promote long-term tenancy sustainment. You'll offer direct support on welfare benefits, income and debt advice, budgeting, digital skills, and energy efficiency -ensuring residents are financially and digitally resilient in an increasingly complex environment.
Salary: £39,500 - £42,156Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (35 hours per week)Sector: Social Housing
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Support & Welfare Advice
- Provide tailored advice on income maximisation, benefits (including better-off calculations), budgeting, and debt management (up to Level 3).
- Carry out assessments and respond quickly to crisis referrals.
- Help residents build financial resilience through budgeting support and signposting.
Digital Inclusion
- Support residents to access online services like Universal Credit and housing portals.
- Promote digital confidence and connect tenants to affordable internet/device schemes.
Energy Advice
- Help residents understand and manage energy usage, bills, and tariffs.
- Offer practical advice to reduce energy costs and access grants or schemes and refer to specialist energy agencies where appropriate.
Hardship Support
- Manage and assess hardship fund applications where applicable.
- Provide immediate, crisis-based interventions while supporting long-term outcomes and keep accurate and fair records of awards and referrals.
Partnership & Engagement
- Work closely with internal housing and income teams to support vulnerable residents and those in rent arrears.
- Build partnerships with local agencies, digital hubs, and energy support services.
- Deliver or support workshops on money management, digital literacy, and energy awareness.
- Attend & represent the service at community events and forums.
Reporting & Improvement
- Maintain accurate casework records using housing management systems.
- Track trends, highlight gaps, and contribute to service development and planning.
- Support continuous improvement through feedback, innovation, and evaluation.
Safeguarding & Compliance
- Identify and refer safeguarding concerns appropriately.
- Comply with policies on equality, data protection (GDPR), health and safety, and safeguarding.
Essential:
- 2+ years' experience in welfare benefits, income recovery, budgeting, and debt advice (Level 3).
- Experience supporting digitally excluded or financially vulnerable residents.
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational, IT Skills and strong knowledge of benefits, energy support, and financial inclusion principles.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and inclusive practice.
- Enhanced DBS required
