Job Purpose
To carry out all warehouse-related activities efficiently and safely, ensuring full compliance with health & safety and manual handling requirements, while supporting operational and production needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Warehouse Operations
- Operate mechanical handling equipment (MHE) in line with all safety procedures
- Receive incoming deliveries, unload vehicles, and verify delivery documentation
- Accurately book goods into warehouse systems
- Label, scan, and correctly store inventory in designated locations
- Pick, prepare, and issue stock to production departments
- Return surplus materials to stock and maintain accurate records
- Prepare, scan, load, and dispatch outgoing goods
- Complete all associated documentation accurately
- Inventory & Systems
- Perform all necessary computer transactions to support warehouse activities
- Maintain accurate stock records through effective system use
- Problem Reporting
- Identify and report issues such as damaged goods, incorrect quantities, mixed or incorrect parts
- Escalate concerns promptly to the Team Leader
- Waste Management
- Support site-wide recycling activities, including collection and segregation of waste, processing using appropriate equipment, sorting materials for recycling and disposal
- General Duties
- Support all warehouse functions as required across different areas
- Maintain high housekeeping and cleanliness standards
- Follow all health, safety, and PPE requirements at all times
- Authority & Decision Making
- Operates within defined procedures and guidelines
- Responsible for identifying hazards and reporting risks
- Able to suggest improvements to processes or working practices
Key Skills & Competencies
- Essential Skills
- Forklift truck operation (RTITB or equivalent licence required)
- Warehouse operations experience
- Basic computer literacy and data input skills
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to liaise effectively with internal departments
- Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' warehouse experience
- Basic Maths and English (minimum NVQ Level 1 or equivalent)
- Experience with warehouse management systems (desirable)

Working Environment
Warehouse, production areas, loading bays, and external spaces. Regular outdoor work (e.g. unloading vehicles, transporting goods). Exposure to varying conditions (cold, warm, noisy). Requirement to wear PPE at all times.
Working Relationships
Internal: All warehouse teams, production, QA, and other departments
External: Delivery drivers (maintaining professional working relationships)
Performance Expectations
Ensure timely turnaround of deliveries and dispatches. Support uninterrupted production supply. Work efficiently under operational pressure and deadlines.
