Our client, a well-established Manufacturing Organisation with sites across the UK, is seeking a Quality Team Leader to join their business based in Brierley on a Permanent basis.

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Quality Team Leader with Health and Safety experience to join our client's team in the steel industry. Our client is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for their employees and ensuring compliance with quality and environmental standards.
The role will involve Quality & H&S responsibilities. The person will be expected to run and maintain both ISO standards, carry out root cause analysis, and respond to both Internal and external N.C.R.s. They will also carry out continuous improvement plans while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, supervise customer and internal audits, and maintain all relevant paperwork ready for submission.
Compliance: Maintaining records, training matrix, accident investigations.
Mission: Manage the day-to-day routine and emerging work through the Quality team using established processes and procedures to perform checks and support the improvement of the company's product quality to the highest Environmental, Health and Safety standards. Working closely with the group for standardisation in the depot responsibility.
Accountabilities:
- Investigate customer complaints
- Request quality deviation evidence from customers for analysis against expected quality standards
- Analyse production records against customer complaints
- Conduct Symptoms Causes Remedies Actions investigation (SCRA) where deviations have occurred
- Coordinate with key stakeholders to resolve customer complaints
- Communicate full traceability and recommendations to contracts team at outcome of investigation
- Visit customers to conduct on-site investigation when appropriate
- Conduct and/or support the implementation of health & safety and learning interventions with production and/or contracts team when appropriate
- Maintain compliance records
- Record investigation data within appropriate databases
- Gather traceability documentation for electronic storage
- Coordinate the distribution and calibration of measuring equipment
- Retain and store calibration certification
- Coordinate quality checks and third party testing of material
- Lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team of functional professionals or other professionals to ensure that the plant meets its established targets and standards.
Team Management Responsibilities:
- Conduct interviews for internal and external candidates
- Complete induction, onboarding and probationary reviews in a timely manner
- Evaluate individuals' performance and set objectives for the future
- Conduct Performance reviews within timescales
- Manage poor performance
- Manage attendance and timekeeping
- Conduct Investigations, Disciplinary and Grievance procedures in line with company policy
- Ensure HR and Payroll are provided with data and documentation as and when required
- Seek advice from HR, Occupational Health or other support agencies e.g. ACAS, EEF
Miscellaneous or Ad Hoc Business Requirements:
- Manage specific projects or undertake specific project activity as determined by the business or line manager
- Travel to specific locations in order to undertake role requirements as required
- Represent your function or business at meetings or events as required
- Undertake any reasonable request in order to support the needs of the business
