Adecco is working with a City Council in an exciting new position Job Title: Building Control Officer Location: Essex Contract Details: Temporary, full-time, 12 months Salary: £47,000 – £54,000 per annum About Our Client: Our client, a City Council has a vacancy in the buildings and construction sector, is seeking two skilled Building Control Officers to join their team. As a vital member of their organisation, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with building regulations, conducting site inspections, and providing expert advice to architects, contractors, and duty holders. Benefits & Perks: Temporary contract providing stability and valuable experience Opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative team Access to comprehensive training and development programmes Convenient office location, just a 6-minute walk from Chelmsford train station Nearby parking available within an 8-minute walking distanceResponsibilities: Review and assess deposited plans for compliance with Building Regulations Conduct site inspections to monitor and ensure compliance with regulations Prepare detailed written reports and letters Provide pre-application advice to architects, contractors, and duty holders Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues of non-compliance Utilise various Building Control IT systems and data management tools Maintain excellent communication and time management skills Work effectively both independently and as part of a dynamic team Conduct thorough site inspections and ensure adherence to safety protocols Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and industry best practisesEssential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience): Experience in building control functions Thorough understanding of Building Regulations and their application Strong knowledge of building technology and construction practises Membership of recognised professional bodies such as MRICS, MCABE, or MCIOB Registered with the Building Safety Regulator as a class 2 Registered Building InspectorDesirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience): Familiarity with relevant technology such as Building Control IT systems Experience in conducting meetings and providing expert advice Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines Attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervisionTechnologies: Building Control IT systems, data management systems How to apply: If you are a skilled Building Control Officer seeking a new and exciting opportunity, please submit your application including your CV and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and qualifications.
