We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to support and enhance the quality performance of our client's existing team, a market leader in the Aerospace Industry. In this role, you will help drive best-in-class practices that minimise defects, reduce variation, and ensure consistent adherence to required quality standards. You will also play a key part in strengthening compliance, improving supplier capability, and contributing to a continuous improvement culture.
Summary:
- Start date: February 2026
- Duration: 6 months with potential to be extended
- Location: Wolverhampton WV10
- Pay Rate: £38 - £45.00 per hour PAYE
- Hours: 37 per week Monday to Friday Flexible start and finish times!
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct supplier, internal, and external audits (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) to maintain approvals.
- Manage supplier performance using scorecards, maturity assessments, and improvement actions.
- Support governance of supplier compliance, including escape management and closure of quality issues.
- Flow down business and customer requirements to suppliers.
- Train suppliers in continuous improvement tools and Root Cause Analysis using the 8D methodology.
- Support and implement Source Change procedures.
- Maintain and support the Quality Management System to ensure full compliance with applicable standards.
- Use operational tools to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Undertake additional quality-related tasks as needed to support business changes.
What We're Looking For
- Significant quality experience within engineering or aerospace (or similar highly regulated environments).
- Comprehensive knowledge of AS9100 and contractual flow-down requirements.
- Experience in fitting, welding, or machining (desirable).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CMM reports, and technical specifications.
- Strong engineering and problem-solving skills.
- Proven continuous improvement experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact at all organisational levels.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise, and execute effectively.
