A well-established engineering and manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Administrator to join its team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation operating within a specialist market, supporting a variety of functions including administration, customer service, purchasing and supply chain activities. The role offers genuine potential for a permanent position for the right individual.
The Role
Working within a busy office environment, you will provide administrative support across several departments, ensuring data is processed accurately and day-to-day operations run smoothly. Key responsibilities include:
- General administrative support
- Processing customer orders and maintaining accurate records
- Data entry and data validation
- Managing documentation and filing systems
- Supporting purchasing and supply chain functions
- Liaising with customers and suppliers via telephone and email
- Assisting with export and customs-related documentation
- Updating information within internal business systems
- Supporting colleagues across multiple departments as required
About You
We are looking for somebody who is highly organised, detail-focused and enjoys working in a collaborative team environment. You will ideally have:
- Previous administration experience
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including Outlook
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive and positive approach to work
- The ability to manage multiple tasks within a fast-paced environment
Desirable Experience
- ERP system experience
- Sage experience
- Purchasing administration
- Supply chain, manufacturing or engineering environments
- Export administration or customs documentation
- Good Excel skills
