We are working with a community-focused organisation to recruit a Rough Sleeper Navigator to support individuals experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantage. This is a high-impact, frontline role working directly with people on the streets and in the community, providing end-to-end casework support to help individuals move into accommodation and rebuild stability.
About the Role
You will take a proactive, outreach-led approach to engaging individuals who are sleeping rough. Managing your own caseload, you will provide consistent, practical support - from initial engagement through to securing accommodation and accessing wider services. This is a hands-on, community-based position requiring resilience, independence, and the ability to build trust with people who may be reluctant to engage.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver street outreach and community-based support to individuals sleeping rough
- Manage a caseload, including assessments, support planning, and ongoing casework
- Support individuals to access housing, health services, and benefits
- Build and maintain relationships with clients facing multiple complex needs
- Work proactively to move individuals towards stability and independence
- Maintain accurate and structured case records
- Work independently, including lone working and mobile outreach
What We're Looking For
To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Experience supporting individuals with multiple disadvantage (e.g. homelessness, substance use, mental health, offending history)
- Experience in outreach or community-based roles
- Strong caseload management skills, including end-to-end casework
- Ability to engage and build trust with individuals who may be reluctant to access support
- Confidence working in challenging, unpredictable environments
- Experience navigating services such as housing, health, and benefits
- Strong communication skills, including handling conflict and difficult conversations
Relevant Backgrounds
We welcome candidates with experience in:
- Homelessness or outreach services
- Youth services (particularly higher-risk or street-based work)
- Domestic abuse support
- Substance misuse services (non-clinical)
- Criminal justice or probation (community-facing roles)
