Role Overview
Seeking a proactive Health & Safety Controller to manage and improve health, safety, and wellbeing systems across manufacturing sites. You'll ensure legal compliance, reduce risk, and promote a positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and UK regulations
- Develop and implement H&S policies and safe systems of work
- Conduct and review risk assessments across sites
- Carry out safety inspections and address hazards
- Promote a strong safety culture and deliver inductions
- Investigate incidents and identify root causes
- Manage PPE, training, and competency requirements
- Oversee emergency procedures, including fire safety
Requirements
Essential:
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- Experience in manufacturing/engineering environments
- Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation
- Experience with audits, risk assessments, and investigations
- Excellent communication skills
Desirable:
- NEBOSH Diploma
- ISO 45001 auditing experience
- IOSH membership
- Multi-site experience
