We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of housing investment and improvement projects, helping to enhance homes and communities through the successful delivery of preconstruction and construction initiatives.

The Opportunity

Working alongside experienced project professionals, you will support the development and delivery of a diverse portfolio of capital projects. This role offers excellent exposure to project management, procurement, stakeholder engagement, contract administration, financial monitoring, and programme reporting within a large-scale property and housing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of preconstruction and construction projects from inception through to completion.
  • Coordinate project information, documentation, reports, and programme data.
  • Assist in monitoring project budgets, expenditure, risks, and change control processes.
  • Support procurement activities, tender evaluations, and contract administration.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and governance documentation for senior stakeholders.
  • Liaise with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Organise and support project meetings, maintaining accurate records and actions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through research and innovative solutions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
  • A project management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM, or equivalent, or be working towards one.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word.
  • A collaborative approach and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within housing, construction, property, asset management, or capital works projects.
  • Exposure to procurement processes, contract administration, or project reporting.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, or public sector organisations.
