Company Overview: Our client, a leading company in the finance industry, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Accountant to join their team in Slough. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual looking to make a significant impact within the organisation and shape the accounting, reconciliation, planning, and reporting processes for various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Main Point of Contact: Serve as the primary contact for all finance-related aspects of new project initiatives.
- Process Understanding: Understand various project journeys and scenarios linked to the process.
- Data Flow Management: Identify data flows and system interactions and develop new reporting and reconciliation processes for projects.
- Documentation: Document process flows and determine data requirements for accurate transaction recording.
- Risk Management: Design controls to mitigate risks at each key point within project processes.
- Transition Planning: Plan for the transition phase and determine any transition-specific data requirements and processes.
- User Acceptance Testing: Perform user acceptance testing on reporting, outputs, and controls related to projects.
- Communication: Effectively communicate financial information across the business.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with the project squad and project manager to provide progress updates and address any delays or issues.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Financial Accountant.
- In-depth understanding of financial processes and designing internal controls.
- Highly credible and capable of engaging and influencing a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Excellent ability to convert data into clear and engaging messages.
- Strong analytical skills to swiftly pinpoint important details.
- Ability to turn long-term plans into reality.
- Confident in presenting complex and technical matters in a simple and easily understood manner.
- Strong awareness of relevant accounting standards and their practical application.
- Experience working in an Agile organisation or on an Agile project/programme is a plus.
