Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Operative with proven experience in both plumbing and electrical maintenance to join our team for a 2 week assignement - 3 days per week.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a variety of reactive and planned maintenance tasks across student properties, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Candidates must possess their own tools and be comfortable working independently while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and installations relating to plumbing and electrical systems.

Diagnose faults and undertake remedial works in a timely manner.

Respond to reactive maintenance requests

Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimise downtime and prevent future issues.

Install, repair, and replace plumbing fixtures, pipework, taps, toilets, and related components.

Carry out minor electrical works including fault finding, replacement of fittings, sockets, switches, and lighting systems.

Complete basic building maintenance tasks including carpentry, decorating, and general repairs where required.

Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials used.

Communicate effectively with tenants, customers, and colleagues.

Essential Requirements

Proven experience as a Maintenance Operative, Multi-Skilled Engineer, or similar role.

Strong plumbing maintenance and repair experience.

Practical electrical maintenance experience with the ability to safely undertake minor electrical works.

Ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues independently.

Own set of professional tools suitable for plumbing and electrical maintenance work.

Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

Strong customer service and communication skills.
