About the Role
We are supporting a progressive and technology‑driven accountancy practice with multiple offices across Scotland. The firm has built a strong reputation for high‑quality work, excellent client relationships and a collaborative culture. They are now looking to appoint a Tax Manager to support the Head of Tax across a varied portfolio, with work weighted significantly towards Personal Tax. Key Responsibilities
- Personal Tax Compliance (majority of the workload) – preparation and review of personal tax returns and related computations
- Tax Advisory – involvement in advisory matters such as:
- Trusts & estates
- Inheritance Tax (IHT) planning
- Corporate transactions (support & training available)
Importantly, this role will involve preparing tax work as well as reviewing work completed by others, depending on experience.
The Ideal Candidate
- Strong personal tax experience (essential)
- Exposure to trusts/IHT or corporate tax is beneficial but not essential – full support and opportunities to learn will be provided
- Tax qualification preferred (ATT/CTA/ACCA/ICAS etc.) but not required
- Comfortable balancing compliance with developing advisory skills
- Positive communicator with strong technical accuracy
