Our client within the education sector is seeking an experienced School Cook to support on a temporary basis at a school premises based in ST7. You will be lone working in this position so we are seeking an organised and proactive individual with previous experience.

This role requires an Enhanced DBS certificate and an understanding of food hygiene/previously obtained food safety certificate.

Responsibilities within the role:

  • Prepare delicious and nutritious snacks and lunches for students, ensuring high-quality meals that meet their dietary needs.
  • Take charge of meal preparation, including ingredient selection, portion control, and meal presentation, ensuring a high standard of excellence in every dish.
  • Adhere to strict food hygiene and safety processes, following all health and safety regulations to provide a safe and clean environment for cooking.
  • Utilise your previous experience as a cook, demonstrating your knowledge of catering and cooking techniques to deliver exceptional meals.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the work space, ensuring equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and stored.
  • Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a cook or in a similar role is essential, demonstrating your ability to handle the demands of a school kitchen.
  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety practises, with the ability to maintain clean and sanitary conditions in the workplace.
  • Possess or obtain the necessary food hygiene certificate or complete a food assessment to meet the required qualifications for the role.

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
