Responsibilities
- Champion document control and information management within the Operations Directorate.
- Own and enhance document control policies, standards, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Lead and deliver transformative change programmes in document and information management.
- Drive the adoption and maturity of the Document Management System (DMS) across the organization.
- Collaborate with IT & Digital as the business lead, maintaining a technology-agnostic approach.
- Provide first-line assurance to senior stakeholders, ensuring effective application of document control standards.
- Support second-line assurance, audit, and compliance efforts in coordination with Risk and Corporate Audit teams.
- Utilize data, KPIs, and maturity assessments to foster continuous improvement.
- Oversee the digitization of legacy technical libraries and paper records.
- Line manage and mentor a dedicated team of document controllers.
- Lead the programme from delivery into continuous improvement and business-as-usual (BAU) operations.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with senior Operations leadership and Governance, Risk & Compliance teams.
- Collaborate with IT & Digital as delivery partners, not owners.
- Work closely with project teams and engineering stakeholders.
- Interface with corporate assurance, audit, and risk functions.
Required Background & Experience
- Strong background in document control and information management (essential).
- Proven experience leading document control functions or programmes.
- Demonstrable experience in business change and process transformation.
- Expertise in embedding governance, assurance, and standards in complex environments.
- Confidence as a programme lead/project leader with excellent communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities to balance operational delivery with strategic improvement.
