This pivotal role is essential in aligning customer demand with manufacturing capabilities, material availability, and inventory strategies. As the Planning Manager, you will take ownership of the end-to-end production planning process, including master scheduling, capacity planning, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP). This position acts as a key liaison between multiple departments, ensuring customer commitments are met while optimising plant efficiency and resource utilisation. Key Responsibilities: Planning & Scheduling: Develop and execute the master production schedule. Translate customer demand into actionable manufacturing plans. Monitor schedule adherence and implement performance improvement actions. Meet customer demand fluctuations to maintain delivery commitments. Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Facilitate demand and supply reviews with stakeholders. Present insights, risks, and opportunities to the leadership team. Utilise data analysis to drive informed planning decisions. Capacity Planning: Conduct short, medium, and long-term capacity assessments. Identify and mitigate production bottlenecks. Collaborate with operations to maximise throughput and operational effectiveness. Inventory & Material Planning: Ensure material availability aligns with production schedules. Work closely with procurement to address supply risks and shortages. Customer Delivery Performance: Drive the achievement of customer On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets. Coordinate recovery plans when delivery performance is at risk. Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance planning and supply chain processes. Support digitalisation and automation efforts. What Our Client Is Looking For: Education & Experience: Degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or Engineering. Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing planning. Strong knowledge of S&OP, production and capacity planning, inventory management, and MRP/ERP systems. Competencies: Strong leadership and coaching skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Advanced planning and organisational skills. Effective communication and stakeholder management. Desirable Qualifications: Previous leadership experience and qualifications such as APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP. Experience with SAP and in aerospace, engineering, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
