About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to work within a busy high school in Rochdale. This is a temporary ongoing position starting in September, offering consistent weekday hours that are ideal for candidates seeking part-time work during school hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals to students and staff.
- Setting up and replenishing food counters and service areas.
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness.
- Washing dishes, utensils, and catering equipment.
- Cleaning kitchen and dining areas in line with health and safety regulations.
- Assisting with stock rotation and storage of food deliveries.
- Providing friendly and efficient customer service during meal times.
- Following all school safeguarding, health and safety, and food hygiene procedures.
Requirements
- Previous catering, kitchen assistant, food service experience.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Understanding of food hygiene and health & safety practices.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to ongoing work.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential.
