Pay Rate: Β£22.55 an hour PAYE / Β£29.82 an hour UMBRELLA
Hours: 36 Hours a week (9AM-5PM) Mon-Fri
Duration: Initial 5 Month Contract to November 19th
Location: HYBRID WORKING - 2 Days office based a week in Croydon
Role Purpose:
- To support the management of the attraction and selection approaches within the Council, providing administrative support and guidance to staff and managers with queries to the team.
- Delivering recruitment advice, guidance and support both strategically and in response to day-to-day demands of the recruitment service, undertaking direct search for candidates where appropriate.
Key Accountabilities:
- To monitor the recruitment inbox, responding to queries where possible and referring to Recruitment colleagues as appropriate.
- To develop FAQs arising from regular queries that are received to support self-service and enhancing the customer journey.
- Provide confidential and professional recruitment advice to Departmental Heads of Service and Recruiting Managers according to best practice, policy and up-to-date legislative guidance to minimise risk.
- Coordinate compliance with regulatory and due diligence requirements e.g. referencing and other pre-employment checks such as DBS for the protection of children and vulnerable adults.
- Ensure that all recruitment and selection of permanent and fixed term staff is in line with the Council's recruitment and selection procedures and relevant employment legislation.
- Draft correspondence where necessary to deal with enquiries or complaints.
- Liaise with the advertising agency and managers in the drafting and placement of advertisements.
- Issue contracts and offers of employment in line with the Council's terms and conditions.
Essential knowledge:
- CIPD or equivalent professional qualification or relevant demonstrable experience.
- Good knowledge of relevant legislation and current trends within Recruitment.
- Intellectual capacity to demonstrate or acquire an understanding of recruitment service delivery in order to respond effectively to the agenda of all council departments.
- Knowledge of fundamental HR and Recruitment processes incorporating understanding of safeguarding.
- Knowledge of applicant tracking systems.
