In this role, you'll act as the primary point of contact for a defined pool of candidates applying to careers within the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force. You'll guide candidates through every stage of the recruitment journey - from initial application through to Phase 1 Training.

You'll play a key role in ensuring candidates feel informed, prepared and supported throughout the process by providing regular updates, managing expectations, and helping them successfully navigate each stage of their recruitment journey.

This role requires someone who can balance high-volume recruitment activity with excellent communication, strong organisation and a candidate-first mindset.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage and nurture candidates from application through to entry into service
  • Preparing candidates for qualification and assessment centre stages
  • Providing guidance on recruitment processes, timelines, and next steps
  • Confirming assessment logistics and carrying out technology readiness checks
  • Conducting tailored preparation calls to ensure candidates are ready
  • Sharing preparation materials and support resources
  • Keeping candidates informed throughout the recruitment process
  • Capturing candidate feedback and identifying improvement opportunities
  • Supporting candidates who may need alternative pathways into service
  • Initiating vetting and offer processes for successful candidates
  • Maintaining accurate records within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Following service level agreements, processes, and compliance requirements.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Delivering an excellent end-to-end candidate experience
  • Supporting candidate engagement and retention throughout the journey
  • Ensuring candidates are fully prepared for each recruitment stage
  • Managing candidate queries, concerns, and escalations
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and GDPR compliance
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams to ensure smooth candidate progression

What you'll need

  • Experience in recruitment, careers advice or any type of candidate facing role
  • Experience working in defence, government, or regulated industries (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to manage sensitive conversations professionally
  • Understanding of recruitment compliance requirements (such as Right to Work)
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Background in or connection with or to the Armed Forces (advantageous)

What's in it for you

  • Competitive salary with progression opportunities
  • Opportunity to support a nationally significant project
  • Structured training and development
  • Supportive and collaborative team culture
  • Pension scheme and employee benefits package

You must have the right to work in the UK.

All offers are subject to background checks and compliance screening.

Contracted hours will be 37.5 a week but this role requires flexibility across the hours of 7AM - 7PM including willingness to undertake occasional weekend work.

This role will be offered on a fixed term contract basis initially.
