An exciting opportunity has opened for a highly organised and proactive Security Administration Officer to support a specialist UK Public Sector programme. This position sits at the heart of a secure operational facility, providing personnel security administration, access control support, and a wide range of essential daily administrative duties. This role is ideal for someone wanting to develop new skills within a committed, friendly, and engaging security team. The role is primarily based in Reading, with occasional travel to London if required. All responsibilities must be carried out in line with UK Government security policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day running of a secure facility, including processing BPSS and SC vetting applications, supporting the Personnel Security Controller.
- Deliver a range of security-related administrative tasks.
- Act as the primary point of contact for facility users and visitors.
- Manage vetting and facility mailboxes, ensuring timely responses and actions.
- Ensure compliant use of secure areas for classified engagements.
- Escort contractors during maintenance and related activities.
- Provide office cover for the wider security team during peak periods or absence.
- Assist with security audits, inspections, and process reviews.
- Monitor correct access control and report any irregularities.
