Job Opportunity: Sheet Metal Worker

Location: Rayleigh | Contract Type: Permanent

In this exciting role, you will manufacture, assemble, and finish high‑quality sheet metal components to tight tolerances. Your expertise will ensure that every piece meets rigorous standards, making a real difference in our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Manufacture sheet metal components to fine tolerances (e.g., +/- 0.1mm).
  • Operate fabrication equipment, including:
    • Press brake
    • Guillotine
    • Rollers
    • Punching machines
  • Perform precise measurements and inspections with tools such as verniers and micrometers.
  • Carry out various welding processes, primarily TIG and MIG welding.
  • Ensure all welds meet quality and structural standards.
  • Conduct finishing processes, including grinding, deburring, and polishing.
  • Work with a variety of materials, such as stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment in line with health & safety procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement and uphold high workmanship standards.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication.
  • Demonstrated ability to work to tight tolerances.
  • Strong TIG and/or MIG welding experience.
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings.
  • High attention to detail and quality.
  • Competent with precision measuring equipment.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and practical skills.
