Our client, a leading organisation, is seeking a motivated professional to join their team. This is a temporary position with full-time hours, for 12-18 months , possibly longer. Providing you with the chance to collaborate with innovative individuals from around the world.
As a Procurement Category Specialist, your main responsibilities will involve providing category support across various sections to include: Filled activity , Converting and pack out.
You will specialise in Converting & Pack Out Services, working with third-party manufacturing and hard goods. Your expertise will be crucial in supplier consolidation, supporting our client in achieving their cost savings and working capital goals. You will have the opportunity to identify cost reduction efforts and implement innovative procurement best practises, all while minimising product and process costs.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with external suppliers is an integral part of this role. As the key point of contact for our client, you will be responsible for supplier selection, leading negotiations, and effectively managing complex supplier relationships. Your strategic thinking and problem-solving skills will come into play as you navigate dual-sourcing, negotiate contracts, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
To excel in this role, it is essential that you have a solid procurement background, particularly with contract manufacturers. Your strong negotiation skills, project management experience, and ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders will set you up for success. Additionally, your financial acumen, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in analysing business metrics will contribute to your effectiveness in this role.
Key qualifications for this position include:
Experience in Procurement, especially with contract manufacturers.
Initiative, self-starter with a positive & pro-active approach
Project management experience
Experience successfully collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on complex projects.
Appropriately engages stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Financial acumen and comfort with conducting business analytics
Fluent English
Procurement Experience of 5+ years
Must have experience in on of the following areas: Direct materials / GFR / Converting / Assembly / Kitting.
Strong Negotiation Experience
Stakeholder/Supplier Management Experience
Fluency in English
Experience in a manufacturing organisation (preferred)
Strong negotiation and contracting skills
Skilled in written and oral communications
Comfort with conducting business analytics
Familiarity with SAP (navigation and usage)
Proficiency in Excel and managing large data sets
To be considered for this role, you must have a bachelor\’s degree or higher from an accredited institution, as well as at least seven (7) years of experience in either sourcing, procurement, logistics, supply chain, engineering, or manufacturing.
