We are currently recruiting an experienced CNC Milling Machinist to join a high-precision engineering manufacturer based in the Preston area. This is a long-term opportunity offering excellent pay, overtime, and flexible day or night shift options, with the role moving from temporary to permanent for the right candidate.
This position would suit a skilled machinist with a strong background in precision manufacturing, capable of working to tight tolerances in a quality-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, operate, and program CNC milling machines
- Produce high-precision components in line with engineering drawings and specifications
- Carry out tool setting, offset adjustments, and job prove-out
- Perform first-off and in-process quality inspections using precision measuring equipment
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, safety, and housekeeping
- Identify and resolve machining or process issues to minimise downtime
- Work collaboratively within a production and engineering team to meet output targets
- Time-served apprenticeship in CNC machining OR significant experience working within a high-precision manufacturing environment (aerospace or similar)
- Strong hands-on experience operating CNC milling machines
- Ability to work to tight tolerances and exacting quality standards
- Confident reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings
- Self-motivated, reliable, and detail-focused
- Willingness to work either day or night shifts
- Excellent hourly rates of pay
