Working Pattern: Full Time
Responsibilities
- Support the execution of data collection activities in a state-of-the-art data collection facility.
- Work closely with Audio Engineers during data collection campaigns, handling participant-facing aspects.
- Assist internal and external participants, ensuring they understand the process, their role, and any required tasks.
- Accurately record and maintain metadata, with particular attention to detail and consistency.
- Liaise with Project Coordinators and other stakeholders to ensure smooth day-to-day operations such as assisting with scheduling and organisation of both internal and external participants.
- Perform data validation of collected data.
- Provide input into planning activities and experiment protocol design.
- Assume responsibility for running some data collections (e.g. subjective experiments requiring simple technical setups).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience), ideally in a relevant field.
- Experience working in a research environment and collecting various types of data.
- Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail, particularly in recording and managing data.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work confidently with participants and colleagues.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (or similar spreadsheet software).
- Ability to work on site at Bourn Quarter, near Cambridge.
Preferred Experience
- Programming experience (e.g. Python or R) would be an advantage.
- Understanding of audio, whether through academic study or practical experience (such as playing a musical instrument).
