Job Title: Home to School Travel Assistant
Location: Various – to schools attended by Children from within the City
Contract Details: Temporary, Part Time
Split Shift required for the role times are: 7am to 9am and 2pm to 4pm. You will need to be available for both shifts Monday to Friday. Term time only.

Responsibilities
- Safely accompany children with special educational needs to and from school.
- Ensure children\’s welfare, discipline, and appropriate behaviour during transit.
- Physically assist with lifting immobile and disabled children, including handling wheelchairs and car seats.
- Liaise with vehicle drivers to coordinate transport arrangements.
- Maintain accurate records of passengers and report any incidents or accidents.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and Travel Unit Officers.
- Attend mandatory training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience)
- Current recognised Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
- Experience caring for children, particularly those with special educational needs.
- Strong communication skills to engage with parents and school staff.
- Ability to comply with health and safety policies and procedures.
