Appeals and Monitoring Officer Pay rate £19.17 PH PAYE or £24.79 PH UMBRELLA 36 hours per week Start date – ASAP 1 DAY IN THE OFFICE (Thursdays) We are currently recruiting for an Appeals and Monitoring Officer (alternatively known as Representations and Appeals Officer) to join our client’s Parking Operations Team on a temporary basis for a minimum of 13 weeks, with the possibility of extension. As an Appeals and Monitoring Officer, you will be responsible for responding to Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) correspondence, deciding on motorist appeals, handling emails, minimal telephone calls, refunds, and complaints. While experience in debt reg would be helpful, it is not necessary. Depending on your experience, there is flexibility in the work streams you will be assigned. This is a full-time role, working 36 hours over a five-day week (Monday to Friday), between 8am and 7pm. The core hours are 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm, with a lunch break ranging from 30 to 60 minutes between 12pm and 2pm. While the role allows for hybrid working, you will be required to work from Hounslow House one day a week, which is conveniently located near Hounslow Central on the Piccadilly line. Key Responsibilities: Investigating PCN disputes and making decisions based on agreed procedures and council policies Ensuring that daily quality and quantity performance standards are met or exceeded Maintaining accuracy and compliance with relevant quality, policy, and legislative standards in all correspondence Collaborating with the Traffic Enforcement Centre, County Courts, and Legal Services to handle Witness Statements/Statutory Declarations promptly Assisting with other duties as required to ensure the smooth running of the officeDesired Skills: Demonstrated experience in investigating PCN issues and letter writing Self-motivated with a strong work ethic Flexible work practises with a professional ‘can do’ attitudeRequirements: Must have at least 6 months of experience in a similar role within a local authorityThis is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and dynamic team, contributing to the smooth operations of our client’s organisation.
