Job Title: Paint Mixer – Automotive Industry Location: Birmingham Job Type: Temp to Perm Pay Rate: Afternoon Shift (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM): £14.00 per hour Night Shift (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM): £14.50 per hour Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paint Mixer to join our team in Birmingham. This role involves preparing paint materials to precise specifications and supporting the production team by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of mixed paints. The position offers long-term potential with a temp-to-perm opportunity. Key Responsibilities: Mix paint components according to verified specifications and technical data sheets (TDS). Ensure all paint materials meet quality standards before application. Support technicians by supplying required paints on time and in full. Maintain accurate documentation of all mixed materials, including part numbers, batch numbers, mix ratios, viscosity, temperature, filtration, and pH values. Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organization in paint kitchens and stores using 5S and FIFO systems. Strip, clean, and maintain paint application equipment. Calibrate and maintain tools such as viscosity cups, rheometers, thermometers, scales, agitators, and mixing sticks. Follow operational procedures for paint kitchen systems including agitation, filter changes, and top-up processes. Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures. Provide support to other team members and departments as needed. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and cost-saving measures. Qualifications & Experience: 3-5 years of experience in paint mixing or a related field, ideally within the manufacturing industry. Basic numeracy and literacy skills. Willingness to undertake training to enhance skills and knowledge. Skills & Attributes: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexible and proactive approach to work. Strong initiative and problem-solving skills. Methodical and organized work style.
