Job Purpose:
To prepare and mix paint components in accordance with supplier specifications and technical data sheets (TDS), ensuring high-quality standards for internal production and timely delivery to technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mix paint materials to meet customer quality standards and internal production requirements.
- Support technicians by ensuring all required paints are available on time and in full.
- Perform paint mixing activities in compliance with IATF 16949 quality standards.
- Accurately document and verify all mixed paint materials, including part numbers, batch numbers, mix ratios, viscosity, temperature, filtration, and pH values.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in paint kitchens and stores using 5S and FIFO systems.
- Strip, clean, and maintain paint application equipment.
- Ensure all tools and equipment (e.g., viscosity cups, rheometers, thermometers, scales) are calibrated and maintained.
- Operate paint kitchen systems including fill and loading, agitation, lifters, filter changes, and top-up procedures.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Provide cover for other team members as required.
- Demonstrate initiative in supporting team members and driving continuous improvement and cost reduction.
- Assist the Technical Manager with departmental activities as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in the paint manufacturing industry preferred.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Willingness to undertake relevant training to enhance skills.
