A well‑established engineering organisation is seeking an experienced Procurement Supervisor to take ownership of their purchasing function, managing approximately £7m annual spend. This is a standalone role where you'll be the go‑to expert for all procurement activity, supplier relationships, stock control, and negotiation. You'll also supervise one direct report (Logistics/Stores), ensuring smooth and efficient operations to support projects across the organisation. Key Responsibilities
- Manage end‑to‑end procurement activities for a £7m spend.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Place and manage orders for ongoing projects.
- Oversee stock management and ensure optimal inventory levels.
- Supervise and support one Logistics/Stores team member.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements to deliver best value.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure timely purchasing and delivery.
- Utilise SAP Business ByDesign for procurement and stock processes.
About You
- A varied procurement background, ideally with experience supporting project‑based environments.
- Knowledge of imports (advantageous but not essential).
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Confidence working independently in a standalone purchasing role.
- Experience using ERP systems - SAP Business ByDesign experience is a bonus.
