Client Local Authority in Newham
Hours: 36 Hours a week (Mon-Fri)
Duration: Initial 6 month contract
Location: HYBRID - Site visits based in Newham/Office

Description
Key Tasks and Accountabilities:
- Carry out inspections and surveys of reported damp, mould and condensation cases.
- Diagnose root causes, distinguishing between structural defects, water ingress, condensation and resident lifestyle factors.
- Prepare detailed survey reports, specifications and cost estimates for remedial works.
- Manage a caseload from initial inspection through to completion and post-inspection quality checks.
- Instruct and oversee contractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time and to the required standard.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Social Housing (Regulation) requirements, Building Safety requirements and the principles of Awaab's Law.
EXPERIENCE: KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
- Essential Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying or a related construction discipline.
- Experience surveying damp, mould and condensation issues within residential housing.
- Knowledge of building pathology and building construction.
- Experience preparing specifications and managing contractors.
- Understanding of housing repairs, disrepair and building safety legislation.
