Are you a dedicated legal professional looking for an exciting opportunity to support a dynamic legal team? Our client Northamptonshire Police are seeking a talented Paralegal to join their team at their headquarters in Wooton Hall, Northampton. This temporary position offers an hourly rate of £16.01 and provides a great chance to contribute to crucial legal services for Northamptonshire Police, Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service, and the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner.
What You’ll Do
- Draft statements and prepare court applications and orders.
- Produce comprehensive court bundles.
- Identify and collate information from witnesses and police systems.
- Correspond with courts and liaise with witnesses as needed.
- Conduct legal research and provide case law updates.
- Prepare briefs for counsel and negotiate fees.
- Attend court on a regular basis (this could be daily).
- Assist in maintaining the case management system, manage records, and produce management reports.
- Monitor new legal requests and coordinate case conferences and meetings.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Law degree, Legal Practice Certificate, ILEX, or equivalent qualification, or extensive experience as a paralegal.
- Proven experience in document drafting.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Expertise in collating documents and producing bundles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proven ability to prioritise tasks in a busy setting.
- Must be able to drive and have access to their own vehicle.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a Fire and Rescue, Police, or public sector organisation.
- In-house legal experience.
- Familiarity with multiple legal areas.
