Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute planned preventative and reactive electrical maintenance on production machinery and plant equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimise downtime and maximise machine availability.
  • Perform fault finding on electrical systems, including sensors, switches, relays, motors, drives, and control circuits.
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical cabling, wiring systems, and machine control equipment.
  • Support machine upgrades, modifications, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Conduct PLC fault finding and diagnostics to identify and rectify machine issues.
  • Assist with the commissioning and testing of machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and update documentation as required.
  • Liaise effectively with production teams to ensure efficient resolution of equipment issues.
  • Support contractors and external service providers as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during all maintenance activities.
  • Contribute to the development of preventative maintenance schedules and best practises.
  • Provide technical support to operators and production personnel.

About You:

Essential:

  • Recognised Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, ONC, HNC, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in an Electrical Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Electrician role within manufacturing.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Familiarity with sensors, switches, contactors, motors, and control panels.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Experience in PLC fault-finding.
  • Knowledge of preventative and reactive maintenance practises.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Experience working with PLC systems such as, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi or similar.
  • Exposure to continuous improvement or TPM methodologies.

  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and machine controls.
  • Practical, hands-on approach to maintenance activities.
