Our client is currently seeking a reliable and motivated Stores Operative to join their team in Thetford on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with stores or warehouse experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and contributing to high service standards.
The Role
Working closely with the Insite Stores Manager, the Stores Operative will play a key role in supporting daily operations across purchasing, material control, and warehouse activities. The position is essential in ensuring smooth processes, cost efficiency, and outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the sourcing of stock and non-stock items in line with customer requirements
- Assist in maintaining a consistently high level of customer service
- Contribute to cost-saving initiatives through supplier and OEM evaluation
- Provide support to maintenance engineers with technical queries
- Help deliver value-added services while achieving agreed cost-saving targets
- Coordinate supplier site visits to support value-added activities
- Identify and support sales opportunities across departments
- Manage day-to-day warehouse operations, including goods-in, stock replenishment, stock checks, and housekeeping
