We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Stores Operative to be based at Gwynt Y Mor Wind farm in Mostyn, Wales. As a Stores Operative you will be responsible for supporting the storage and logistics requirements of an offshore wind farm. You will be required to ensure that all stock movements are recorded and controlled in an accurate and auditable manner. You will also be responsible for the packing of tools and parts ensuring all dangerous goods and container packing documentation is accurately completed and delivered to a tight schedule, this also requires a high level of flexibility to adjust to potential plan changes throughout the day. You will be responsible for meeting operational requirements whilst maintaining integrity and highest safety standards for their site. Providing information to your Line Manager to ensure stock is managed correctly throughout the operation as well as conducting and auditing inventory counting.
Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:
- Order, receive, pick, pack, issue and dispatch inventory whilst maintaining fully auditable records on both system (SAP) and paper accurately to meet tight replenishment schedule for crew transfer vessel.
- Complete Dangerous Goods manifests to comply with legislation.
- Management of calibrated tools, control and secure inventory including safety equipment and tooling.
- Management of LOLER inspections for lifting equipment.
- Maintain a safe, clear and clean environment ensuring all procedures are adhered to including equipment maintenance, auditing the stores (5S) as per checklist and reporting findings to area manager on a weekly basis.
- Conduct weekly/monthly/annual inventory checks to procedure and audit results and team performance.
- Expedite effective logistics solutions to the site Operations team to deliver service to our internal and external customers.
What you need to make a difference:
- A passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change.
- You will be able to demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and take responsibility for your own workload.
- You will have demonstrable experience in Stores and or material control ideally within Offshore Wind or similar environment.
- Excellent organisation skills and be able to adapt quickly to the changing requirements.
- Work shifts at the project location, including weekends so you must live within commuting distance of Mostyn. This requires a level of flexibility to cover holiday, late sails etc.
- You can show us your knowledge about health and safety legislation, IT literacy, particularly MS Office Applications and SAP.
- You are a strong communicator who can demonstrate to us the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Previous experience of working in the wind industry would be advantageous although full training will be provided.
