Our client is looking for a Material & Logistics Handler to join their busy manufacturing operation in Dagenham on a temp-to-perm basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with warehouse, materials control, or logistics experience who is looking to secure a permanent position with a growing business.
The Role
As a Material & Logistics Handler, you will be responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, movement, and dispatch of materials across the site. Working closely with production and purchasing teams, you'll help maintain stock accuracy, support customer deliveries, and ensure materials are available when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving and offloading incoming deliveries.
- Completing goods-in inspections and processing receipts through SAP/ERP systems.
- Managing stock replenishment across the site.
- Maintaining accurate inventory levels and carrying out stock checks.
- Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch.
- Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Operating Counterbalance Forklift Trucks and other material handling equipment.
- Coordinating logistics and transport requirements to meet delivery schedules.
- Maintaining Kanban stock systems and replenishment processes.
- Managing tooling and equipment stores and maintaining stock levels.
- Raising shipping documentation and ensuring products are correctly labelled.
- Supporting maintenance activities and ensuring equipment remains safe and operational.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, health and safety, and workplace organisation.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential).
- Previous experience within a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or materials control environment.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and stock accuracy.
- Computer literate with experience using inventory or ERP systems.
- SAP experience would be advantageous.
- Powered Stacker Licence would be beneficial but is not essential.
- A proactive approach and strong work ethic.
