An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Market Intelligence Manager to join a world-leading FMCG business on a short-term interim contract. Working within a high-performing Consumer & Market Insights team, you will play a pivotal role in providing market intelligence, commercial insights, and strategic recommendations that help drive business performance across the UK market. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytically minded insight professional who is passionate about transforming complex data into clear business actions.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Market Intelligence, you will partner with marketing, sales, e-commerce, media, finance and leadership teams to identify market opportunities, monitor competitor performance and support strategic decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse market, consumer and retailer panel data to identify trends, opportunities and threats.
- Monitor category performance, competitive activity and market dynamics.
- Translate data into actionable insights, recommendations and decision-making tools for stakeholders.
- Develop dashboards, reports and performance tracking frameworks.
- Support senior management with ad-hoc analysis and business-critical insights.
- Work closely with data, analytics and IT teams on data management and automation projects.
- Build strong relationships with external market data providers & partners.
- Help drive a data-led culture across the organisation through insight and commercial storytelling.
About You
We're looking for a commercially focused insight professional who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Experience
- 3-5 years' experience in Market Intelligence, Market Research, Consumer Insights or Marketing Analytics.
- Experience working within FMCG, Retail, Consumer Goods or a Market Research agency environment.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent commercial acumen.
- Experience interpreting large datasets and presenting findings to stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of UK market and consumer trends.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with Business Intelligence and dashboarding tools.
- Knowledge of data governance and data management projects.
- Exposure to machine learning, predictive analytics or automation initiatives.
- Experience working with retailer, consumer or syndicated panel data.
